Parking

How to park in Bath?

We provide a permit for Bath Central Zone street parking (zone C). Simple system: electronic permit is turned on for your plate number after your payment is received. The cost is £20 per 24 hour period from 12 Noon to 12 Noon the next day. You can pay with your room or separately, but must be before the permit is turned on. Please read the following conditions:

  • The permit fee is not-refundable if the permit is terminated earlier - the fee goes to the city. The times for the permit are only 12pm to 12pm the next day. They do not provide part-day permits.

  • The parking places are not guaranteed - especially late at night and on weekends. You're welcome to try to park first, then text us with the payment and registration detail once you find the spot - provided I am in town and during the working hours.

  • You can park/re-park anywhere in the Central Zone in Bath, in the metered spots - the sign in the picture on the left shows a typical area where for zone C where you can park. The permit does not cover parking on yellow lines, carparks or other zones, please be mindful - ONLY Zone C (or Central Zone) sign must be present in the exact street where you park.

  • The Council map of the Central Zone - currently Purple, but the colour might change - refer to street signs! (

  • In the map included below, our nearby streets indicated by thin green lines are the closest Zone C spots to the hotel, and the yellow areas indicate single yellow line (free 6pm to 8am daily). This changes all the time, so you must refer to street signs.

  • Your parking is your responsibility, as it is part of your driving, and these guidelines are an aid, not an instruction. We cannot guarantee the temporary and event related changes to any of the city street parking rules, so every parking must be only in accordance with the street signs.

Alternatives:

1. The best alternative is Charlotte Street Carpark - about 15 min walk from Hill House. You can pull up at the kerb here, unload your luggage, then drive down the hill to the Charlotte street carpark. The cost there is £17.10 for 24 hours, and there are shorter periods available. You are encouraged to use MiPermit app for the Charlotte street carpark, to see the rates and have reminders, etc. Or you can simply pay at the machine there. There are also public toilets there, and it's a lovely walk through the beautiful streets. (https://maps.app.goo.gl/me6fu6aBLoSSwwBv5)

2. There is free parking after 6pm until 8am on Morford street and on Lansdown road, along the single yellow line. This is common for the rest of the city, and please be mindful, this restriction is 7 days a week now, with no longer free Sundays or bank holidays. Local parking wardens are very strict.

3. The residential spots in many zones may be free after 7pm until 8am - please read the sign in your exact location, it might not be the case everywhere. If you need a 'top up' from 8am to 12pm 4 hours parking in Central Zone - please ring our number and we can provide this permit at the rate of £5 for the 4 hours in the morning, but subject to availability.

4. Lansdown Park & Ride is a brilliant and inexpensive way to drive to and enjoy Bath without any hassle. You park lightly outside and then take the fast inexpensive bus into the city. Full info: Lansdown Park & Ride – Service 31 - travelWEST
